				The Centurion has been sympathetically modernised over the years and the building still maintains the look and feel of a centuries-old inn.











		The fireplace in the public bar is a rare example of an early 19th century cooking hearth. Not much cooking is done on it these days, but when the evening begins to cool visitors are treated to a beautiful, flickering log fire, into which they may gaze, if they have a mind, and reflect on such times that dwell on the very edge of memory.







Assistance in achieving this effect is readily available from the bar, and whether your ‘poison’ is a pint of cask-conditioned real-ale, a glass of fine wine from the well stocked cellar, or a selection from one of the best collections of malt whiskeys in the region, you are unlikely to be disappointed.
